| The morning sun pours down its light
creeps softly through the window
Touches her stretching fingers, its warmth melts her sleep away
Ocean-blue eyes glazed as she looks out across the bedroom
Then reaching down to her side to touch his sleeping face
And it's all she ever dreamed for, it's all she ever dreamed of
Washed and dressed she feels so refreshed, busies herself in the kitchen
"I'll cook him up a morning feast to greet this perfect day"
It's an eternity or so it seems before he finally joins her
But the grimness of his smile chases her joy away
"Oh I know what you're about to say
I know just what you'll say"... And he says
"It's not that I don't love you, it's not that I don't care
It's just I can't stand being tied here when there's so much out there"
Then the ocean leaves her blue eyes blind in a tide of tears and emotions
...
...That she cannot hide, flood out but it's only herself swept away
"I wish I could change how I feel" he whispers face down and
broken
"I only wish I didn't feel" she says as she pushes him away
And the perfect day, clouds... and here comes the rain
The morning sun pours down its light creeps softly through the window
She reaches down to her side but there's just an empty bed
And the rain pours inside her head |
