Frozen

So cold …
The wind blows through, a chill to the bone
She froze …
A statue alabaster marble stone
“I don’t know what to do” a cry from inside
And a look so fraught and pale from ice dark eyes
Arms fall to her side

She stands against the wind
Her arms wide open
“It helps me to think” she sighs
“With my senses frozen”

So old …
She feels an age, a cage of such weight
She knows …
Time casts a longer shadow for those too late
A language she creates with softened phrase
To curse her fate

She stands against the wind
Her arms wide open
“It helps me to dream” she smiles
“With my senses frozen”

“We only see a fragment of the sky
That’s you and I…” she says
Then dropping to the floor she starts to cry
Her tears like ice and diamond blind
She falls her weight denied
She turns her head towards that sky
Where her gaze falls deep inside mine

She stands against the wind
Her arms wide open
“It helps me to breathe” she says
“With my senses frozen”

She stands against the wind
Her arms wide open
“It helps me to be …”
