| One of my personel favourites both
musically and lyrically. Created around that sorrowful piano sound this
melancholic number does generate a feeling of reflective sadness which
is echoed in the lyric.
I guess we end "This Painted Pantomime" kind of how we started,
but with a more reflective and more somber take on the theme that came
about with "Panorama". It's a question of learning to live together
to survive, to introduce ourselves to one another's cultures and views,
to try to tolerate them, to start acting as a family, to learn to integrate.
We clog our lives up with so much religion, politics and patriotic rhetoric
which, although designed to help us, only seem to put more problems in
our way, which only stand to fortify our differences and become banners
and slogans to justify our narrow mindedness.
