| A very early demo dating from sometime
around 1995/96. This was recorded on a four track portostudio I had spoilt
myself with and had very little actual production as such and no vocal
affects at all (those came later when I purchased a Roland vs-880 digital
workstation). So therefore it's all very rough and ragged.
Lyrically this was an attempt at social commentary and was aimed predominately
at the Fat Cat syndrome that had sprung from the Thatcherite years. It
pointed at the destruction of our core manufacturing industries and the
devastating effect this had on whole communities leaving Britain as nothing
more than a "nation of shop assistants". Looking back the lyrics
are somewhat naive with almost a brothers to arms message, a sort of us
against them shout. I was an idealist I guess and really nothing much has
changed.
