"Awake" is a sort of companion song to "Fly". It's about taking a wider view, looking at a bigger picture.
I guess I'm very self centered when it comes down to it, I always used to think I was hard done to until I grew older and got an idea of what real strife others have to endure in life.
I suppose this is a fight against depression as much as anything, I once filled my life with a self inflicted blackness. A selfish, self centred darkness that left me fearful of life.
However an awful lot of what I thought were big emotional problems in my little sheltered youth pale into insignificance to what's happening in the real world.
